Controls Performance Engineer
Job description:
Help to deliver improved car performance through liaison with the race driver, interpretation and careful analysis of his feedback and then direction to the Team on design, setup and systems on the basis of the analysis.
Help to coordinate the Performance Engineer function across both cars and with that of our sister team: Through analysis of setup records, car data and GPS, identify areas for performance improvement; positive setup trends, driver approach improvement, systems tuning, and other car parameters.
Help to drive performance analysis and improvement programs on the simulator and at the track. Follow new ideas through from concept to design to simulator and track running.
Help to support the race engineers and be a liaison with the factory to pass through ideas and new directions, adding-in analysis and simulation to support new concepts where needed.
Role requirements:
At least 3 years’ experience in high level race series.
At least a working knowledge of the main race specifics; vehicle dynamics, race tyre usage and modelling, aerodynamics, control systems, measurement methods, offline and DIL simulation, driver support.
Knowledge of data analysis programs (Atlas or Wintax preferred) and Matlab/Simulink.
Excellent communication skills / great team player.
