Systems Engineer

Job description: 

Duties:

  • To be responsible for the overall functionality of the car and its components as well as the correct integration and communication between the subsystems in the car.

  • To be heavily involved in the Driver in the Loop (DIL) running and Hardware in the Loop running in order to develop, test and validate the systems and subsystems of the car.

  • Support calibration, tuning, and validation of control algorithms using HIL/SIL platforms, rig testing, and on-track data.

  • Integrate control systems with vehicle control unit (VCU) and data acquisition systems via CAN, Ethernet, or other protocols.

  • Perform diagnostics, fault handling, and software debugging using telemetry and onboard logging tools.

  • Ensure compliance with motorsport regulations (e.g., FIA rules, Powertrain constraints, VCU constraints).

  • Get involved in the Ops Room (Mission Control) for supporting the Race Team at the track side during the events when not attending the track side.

 

Knowledge and skills:

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position being responsible for the Systems of a race car.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, solution focused attitude.

  • Extensive knowledge of data acquisition, data analysis, and statistical analysis.

  • Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink and code generation (e.g., Simulink Coder, Embedded Coder).

  • Experience on embedded C programming and/or model-based development is required.

  • Experience and knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and WinTAX/SYSMA. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement required.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

  • Familiarity with vehicle networks (CAN) and communication protocols.
