Software & Strategy Engineer

Job description: 

Use/maintain/develop a wide range of strategy and race management tools in different programming languages to further improve the live management of the car as well as the ultimate strategy performance. 

 

Work close to the Race and Performance engineers to translate their requirements and requests for the current the tools into low level coding that meets the demands.  

 

Analyse and report the race car strategy performance developing metrics and tools based on GPS data and timing data for pre and post event. 

 

To contribute to the live strategy decision making during the events by supporting the senior strategist. 

 

To develop ad hoc tools for running and developing the Driver in the Loop simulator. 

 

To develop tools that may be hosted in Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.  

 

Get involve in the Ops Room (Mission Control) for supporting the Race Team at the track side during the events. 

 

Role requirements: 

 A robust technical background in modelling and software development. 

Experience on programming at least in two of the following languages is mandatory: Python, C, C#, C++, JavaScript, or any other language. 

A good understanding of Formula E racing and race craft dynamics.  

Work to the highest standards with an exceptional attitude towards attention to detail. 

Experience and knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, Dymola, CarMaker, Simpack, Chassis Sim, AVL VSM, or any other high-end Vehicle Dynamics tool chain will be of benefit. 

Used to working to own initiative. 

Written and oral communication skills in English. 

Excellent communication skills / great team player.
